Many items can be prepared in the oven or in a crockpot
to be ready to eat when you arrive home for dinner.
Chicken and Dumplings - Tender white meat chicken and home-made
dumplings in a thickened chicken broth.  Served with cornbread and 1
vegetable.  This is so good, it will remind you of Mom's chicken and dumplings.
Beef or Pork Roast - Slow cooked in a crockpot with potatoes, carrots and
wonderful seasonings.  Served like Grandma made it with white rice and pole
beans/green beans (whichever is available).
MUST HAVE CROCKPOT!  No
waiting to warm dinner ready when you get home!
Meatloaf - Classic Meatloaf, made with ground sirloin and served with
creamy, fluffy mashed potatoes and a vegetable.

Stuffed Peppers - Ground sirloin, brown rice, minced vegetables in a light
tomato sauce stuffed into a pepper.  Cooked to perfection!  Served with one
vegetable.

Lima Beans - Lima beans with chunks of ham on a bed of rice served with a
vegetable or garden salad and homemade cornbread.

Spaghetti - with meat sauce or meatballs (your choice), served with salad or
vegetable and garlic bread.  We have three types of meat we use ground sirloin
or ground turkey or if you like spicy (which we do) we use half ground sirloin (or
if you like ground turkey) and half hot ground sausage.  Just enough hot to
make it taste good not really hot.
Chili - with meat and beans served with salad and crackers.  We have three

Stuffed Cabbaged - Ground sirloin, brown rice, minced vegetables in a light
tomato sauce rolled into cabbage leafs.  Cooked to perfection!  Served with one
vegetable or salad.

Chicken and Rice - Just like Mom's, white meat chicken and rice with a
wonderful chicken broth.  We make this two different ways.  One with white
rice and seasonings and the other with yellow rice.  Both are very good!  Why
not have white rice one week and yellow another week.  Served with one
vegetable or garden salad.

Old Fashioned Beef Stew - Tender chunks of beef, potatoes,
carrots, peas, seasoned really great with a wonderful thick gravy.

Homemade Chicken Soup - Tender chunks of white meat chicken,
potatoes, carrots, pole beans (or green beans, which ever is available),
seasoned with onions and spices.  Served with a fresh salad.
Ewens Potato Bake Casserole - Made with your choice of ground
Sirloin, ham, or poultry combined with tender slices of potato, pole
beans or peas (your choice) with a very light tomato sauce, seasoned
with onion, mushrooms, green pepper and a wonderful mix of spices.
Very good with or without melted cheese on top.   You can add a little
jalapeno's for flavor.  Served with a wonderful fresh salad.
Merritt Special - This a wonderful dish my Mom use to make us when
we were kids.  We all loved it.  Made with ground sirloin, onion, green
pepper, egg noodles, peas, with a light tomato sauce and a wonderful
mix of spices.  Served with a fresh salad.
Italian-Style spaghetti Squash - This is a very good meal for
anyone that wants spaghetti but doesn't want the calories.  This is
good for vegetarians also.  Many people like this even if they are not
on a diet.   If you like you can add your choice of ground sirloin,
ground turkey, or chicken chunks or shrimp.
